Through the personal lens of filmmaker J.R. Hardman, “Reenactress” investigates the gender-bending women and transmen of American Civil War reenactment who crossdress to portray soldiers on the battlefield. These present-day reenactors commemorate historical women who lived secretly as men to fight in the Civil War for both the Confederacy and the Union.
The presentation will include the new trailer for the film, 2-3 rough cut scenes and, a behind-the-scenes Q&A with the director, J.R. Hardman moderated by Rachel Quist of Rachel’s SLC History Blog.
Part of the Made in Utah Film Series. Ticket proceeds will be support the completion of the film.
